Olliefrog Toad Skater Demo took inspiration from the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Thematically, though, it pulls its sources from the 90s and early 2000s retro gaming tropes. However, since this is a demo game, the content will be limited. You can only play in one park, and the tricks you can do are limited.
What does the demo offer?
Olliefrog Toad Skater provides a faithful recreation of the game feel of the late 90s and early 2000s skateboarding games. It lets you control cute frogs as your character as it performs tricks, including grabs, grinds, wallrides, and wallplants. The game offers various modes, such as classic park tour, quirk circuit, and the story mode. Newbies can also take advantage of the practice mode.
Players can enjoy the game using a controller or their keyboards. Both options are remappable, although those using controllers that are old or exotic may struggle a bit. When using keyboard controls, you can move using WASD keys. You can then perform tricks by combining them with the arrow keys. A/D keys allow you to steer while the S key lets you decelerate. To revert, press the left shift.
However, players should note that this app is still in the demo stage. With this, the things you can do in the game are limited. It has an incomplete subset of the tricks you can perform. Still, there is enough in the kit for you to practice. The demo build also has only one unnamed park you can play in.
